What the Kumble Family Story Teaches Us

An HMT-engineer father. A homemaker mother. An engineer brother. A wife who came with a daughter from a previous marriage — raised by Anil as his own. Three children, one biological, one biological, one through marriage. From one Bangalore engineering household came one of the greatest leg-spinners in cricket history.

For every family — large or small, famous or otherwise — the Kumble story carries the same lesson. Step-children raised as your own become your children, with no asterisk. Aaruni is one of three Kumble daughters and sons on the family record, the same as the two biological children. Write all three down equally. The tree records family, not biology.
