Edward John David Redmayne, born 6 January 1982 in Westminster, London, is a British actor — winner of the 2015 Academy Award for Best Actor for The Theory of Everything (playing Stephen Hawking). He also led The Danish Girl (2015) and the Fantastic Beasts franchise (2016–2022).
