🏰 Historical Dynasties of Johor

  1. House of Melaka-Johor (1528–1699)

    • Founded by Sultan Alauddin Riayat Shah II, son of the last Sultan of Malacca, Mahmud Shah.

    • This dynasty continued the legacy of the Malacca Sultanate after its fall to the Portuguese in 1511.

  2. House of Bendahara-Johor (1699–1811)

    • Established following the assassination of Sultan Mahmud Shah II in 1699.

    • Abdul Jalil Shah IV, previously a Bendahara (chief minister), ascended the throne, marking the beginning of this lineage

  3. House of Temenggong-Johor (Modern Era, from 1886)

    • Sultan Abu Bakar, known as the "Father of Modern Johor," was proclaimed Sultan in 1886.

👑 Current Johor Royal Family

  • Sultan Ibrahim Ismail ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar

    • Born on 22 November 1958, he ascended the throne as the 25th Sultan of Johor on 23 January 2010.

    • In 2024, he was elected as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia.

  • Raja Zarith Sofiah binti Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah

    • Consort of Sultan Ibrahim and the current Raja Permaisuri Agong (Queen) of Malaysia.

    • Daughter of the late Sultan Idris Shah II of Perak, she brings a union of royal lineages from Johor and Perak.

Their Children:

  1. Tunku Ismail Idris

    • Born in 1984, he is the Tunku Mahkota (Crown Prince) of Johor.

    • Appointed as the Regent of Johor in 2024 during his father's tenure as King

  2. Tunku Tun Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah

    • The only daughter of Sultan Ibrahim and Raja Zarith Sofiah.

  3. Tunku Idris Iskandar

  4. Tunku Abdul Jalil Iskandar (1989–2015)

  • Tunku Iskandar Abdul Jalil Abu Bakar Ibrahim

    • Born on 14 October 2017, he is the eldest son of Tunku Ismail Idris and Che' Puan Mahkota Khaleeda.

    • Proclaimed as the Raja Muda of Johor (Deputy Crown Prince) in 2018, positioning him as second in line to the Johor throne.
