What the Sarabhai Family Story Teaches Us
A Gandhi-supporting industrialist father. A Montessori-educator mother of 8. Seven siblings — including the NID co-founders. A classical-dancer wife who founded Darpana Academy. Two children — one runs CEE Ahmedabad, one runs Darpana. A career that founded ISRO and India's space program.
For every family — large or small, famous or otherwise — the Vikram story carries the same lesson. Some families are entirely institution-founding. The Sarabhai family record holds Calico Mills, Sabarmati Ashram (built on Sarabhai land), Darpana, IIM Ahmedabad, PRL, ISRO, NID, CEE, CEPT — at least 9 major Indian institutions founded by one family across one generation.
